This past weekend the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival (PIJF) hosted a three-day celebration with performances by Dee Dee Bridgewater, Keith David, Eric Benet, Jazzmeia Horn, and more. Co-presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, the popular festival–now in its 15th year–was full of memorable moments and themes including Bridgewater’s powerful socially conscious driven set, David’s reinvention as a jazz recording artist, and a lineup reflecting the significance of intergenerationalism in jazz. Here are the highlights.
