Artists Working with Intergenerational Themes: A Panel Discussion
Pittsburgh, PA 15222 United States
The August Wilson African American Cultural Center (AWAACC), in partnership with Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh and Casey Droege Cultural Productions (CDCP), presents Artists Working with Intergenerational Themes: A Panel Discussion — a free public conversation exploring the creative power of connection across generations.
This engaging afternoon will feature artists John Peña and Junyetta Seale, moderated by Randi Vega of Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh. Together, they’ll discuss how art can bridge age, experience, and perspective—illuminating the vibrancy of aging and collaboration in contemporary creative practice.
Guests are also invited to view Picture This, a photography exhibition celebrating authentic stories of Pittsburgh-area residents connecting across generations. The exhibition runs November 8, 2025–February 1, 2026 and is supported by the Henry L. Hillman Foundation and Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s Placemaking Grant, sponsored by Citizens Bank.
Join us for an afternoon of conversation, community, and reflection—complete with refreshments and opportunities to engage with local artists and advocates.
About the Exhibition
Picture This is an initiative of Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh and The Art Supply Co., featuring neighborhood-based photo installations in McKeesport, Sharpsburg, and Beechview. The project showcases the power of intergenerational connection and celebrates what it means to grow up and grow old together in the Pittsburgh region.
