The August Wilson African American Cultural Center is thrilled to bring back Dance Camp for the 3rd year, with educator Christian “JITA” Brown. The purpose of this camp will be to educate students on the fundamentals of dance and what makes hip-hop dance an influential style of dance. JITA will take students on a journey through popping, locking, and break dancing, and encourage students to use their individual style and personality to create a dance masterpiece. The sessions will take place in person on June 8th, June 29th, and July 13th from 11am-1pm. Students will perform for our July Community Day on July 20th. It is recommended that students wear comfortable clothing and shoes to easily move during the sessions. This class is designed for students 10 to 16 years of age and class size will be limited to ensure all students receive proper instructions to achieve their goals.
