Calling all comic book lovers and art enthusiasts of all ages! Join us for an engaging and informative experience of Collections in Blackexhibit, currently on view at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center.

Dive into the dynamic world of comics, explore rare books along with original illustrations, and gain new perspectives on the representation and influence of African Americans in the comic arts. Plus, discover how Pittsburgh has played a pivotal role as a crossroads for this evolving medium spanning from the Golden Age of comics to today.

Guided by comic expert and collector Phillip Thompson aka DJ Big Phill and joined by Curator Kimberly Jacobs, you’ll get behind-the-scenes insights about the exhibit while connecting with others.
