Its musicians have been credited with helping to develop the jazz style of “bebop” and venues such as The Crawford Grill were a hotspot attracting performers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and Dizzy Gillespie. And the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival (PIJF) has been keeping that legacy swinging.
